Mr. Wafer has over thirty years experience in the fields of management, project management and management consulting. Areas
of activities have included corporate planning and market analysis, organizational planning and implementation, policy and procedure development, systems planning, computer systems development and implementation
and facilities management.Educated in the United Kingdom, Mr. Wafer spent a number of years with International Computers Ltd. in a variety of positions culminating in being a Senior Project Manager
responsible for a number of development, installation and maintenance projects.
Re-locating to Canada in 1975, he spent a number of years at B.C. Central Credit Union of Vancouver, B.C. rising
to the position of Manager of Systems & Programming, responsible for the supervision and administration of 27 technical staff. He spent seven years at Geac Computer Corporation in various Project Management
positions, and as Development Manager for Canadian Financial Systems.
As Vice-President, Information Systems for Vancouver City Savings, Mr. Wafer designed and implemented a 'future proof' systems
architecture combining legacy, proprietary and client-server systems. Implemented over a period of 6 years, this provided the support infrastructure allowing VanCity to improve its profitability by a factor of 13
times. He also designed and implemented Canada's first Home Banking system within this architecture. Using these technologies, Mr. Wafer 'built' and launched Canada's first branchless bank, Citizen's Bank of
Canada.
Mr. Wafer regularly provides services to Philip G. Beynon & Associates Inc. as an Assistant Course Director on that organization's PRACTICAL PROJECT SKILLS TRAINING course and is in
frequent demand as a speaker on innovation in applied technology at conferences in Canada and around the world.
Mr. Wafer achieved State Scholar recognition in both Mathematics and Physics and majored
in Pure Mathematics at Imperial College, London University, London, United Kingdom.
